2025 Yearbook orders

Orders are now open for the 2025 Yearbook. 

The cost of the Yearbook is $27.00. You are welcome to order multiple copies and they will be delivered to the nominated student.
The 2025 Yearbook will not be going to print until 2026 so we can capture the last days of 2025 at Wilston State School.
 
An invoice will be issued once orders have closed and must be paid before distribution or collection.

Student absences

A reminder to please advise the office and your classroom teacher if your children will be away during the term or departing early for holidays. This helps with planning assessments and other activities during this busy term. 

Changes to Blue Card requirements Affecting Parent Volunteers

Parents volunteering at the Pool for PE lessons are now required to register for a Volunteer Blue Card.

Please contact the School Office to advise us of your Application ID number, so that you can be linked to the school. This must be done to finalise processing your application.

Parental Exemption

Parents volunteering for activities their own child is participating in are exempt from Blue Card requirements unless:   

  • The activity is an overnight camp or excursion 
  • The service or activity includes close personal contact with a child, such as bathing, toileting, or dressing 
  • They are a restricted person 

Parents volunteering in activities that their own child does not participate in are not exempt from Blue Card requirements. 

For the purposes of a parental Blue Card exemption, the Queensland Government defines a parent as: 

  • The biological mother or father 
  • A legal guardian 
  • Someone who is regarded as the parent of the child under Aboriginal tradition 
  • Someone who is regarded as the parent of the child under Torres Strait Island custom 

Please note that the following relationships do not qualify for exemption:   

  • A step-parent or the partner of a parent (excepting cases wherein such a person has legally adopted the child) 
  • Grandparents 
  • Aunts and uncles 
  • Adult siblings 

 Please note:  

  • A restricted person is a person who either: 
    • has been issued a negative notice 
    • has a suspended Blue Card 
    • is a disqualified person 
    • has been charged with a disqualifying offence that has not been finalised, or 
    • is the subject of an adverse interstate Working with Children Check decision that is in effect 
  • A calendar year is from 1 January to 31 December, and a day is for any period of time in one day, regardless of whether it is a full day or part day 
  • These requirements apply to all volunteering activities, including weekend events.
