FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents and Carers
Our school community has been buzzing with energy and achievements recently, and I’d like to take a moment to highlight and celebrate them. What an incredible day our recent Wilston State School Fete turned out to be! A huge appreciation goes to our dedicated Fete Committee for the countless hours of planning and preparation that went into creating such a vibrant and successful event. From the food stalls and rides to the performances and games, the day truly showcased the community spirit that makes Wilston so special. Thank you also to the many volunteers who gave their time and energy—we couldn’t do it without you.
Congratulations to the winners of our Fete Colouring Competition!
Father’s Day Stall
A big thank you also goes to the team who coordinated this year’s Father’s Day Stall. The care and organisation behind the scenes ensured our students had the opportunity to choose something thoughtful for their dads and father figures. This tradition continues to be a highlight for the children and a lovely way to celebrate family connections.
Celebrating Our Teacher Aides
This week we have been celebrating Teacher Aide Appreciation Week, so we want to recognise the incredible contribution our teacher aides make every single day. Their support in classrooms—whether it’s working with small groups, assisting individual learners, or providing that extra helping hand—makes a world of difference to our students and teachers. We are so grateful for their dedication, care, and expertise. Our school wouldn’t be the same without them.
Year 6 Maths Success
Congratulations to our Year 6 Maths Team, who proudly represented Wilston in the recent Regional Mathematics Competition—and came away with first place! Their teamwork, problem-solving skills, and determination are something for the whole school to be proud of. Well done to the students and their teachers for this outstanding achievement.
Parent Teacher Interviews
A reminder that Parent Teacher Interviews will be held from Monday 16th to Wednesday 18th September. Bookings can be made online in the usual way, and we encourage all families to take advantage of this opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher about their learning progress.
Principal Leave
Finally, I’d like to let the community know that I will be taking a period of extended leave from Thursday 12th September and will return on Tuesday 7th October. During this time, the school leadership team will continue to ensure everything runs smoothly.
I think that’s all for now. Take care Wilston!
