2025 TRACK AND FIELD COMPETITION
The school Inter-House Track and Field Carnivals for 2025 will be held in the last week of Term 2. The carnivals will be broken into a Senior and Junior Carnival with some pre carnival events for some of the students in the 9-12 years age group.
Monday 23 June | High Jump events for 10-12 Years (students need to qualify – on school oval) |
Tuesday 24 June | Senior Carnival - 9 years (born 2016) to 12 years (born 2013) – Windsor Park, Albion |
Wednesday 25 June | Junior Carnival - Prep to 8 years (born 2017) – School Oval |
Junior Carnival Prep to 8 Years – (School Oval)
The Junior Track and Field Carnival is a “participation” focused carnival giving students the opportunity to experience, and have a go at Athletic related events. Students will participate in sprints races and long jump events. The fastest 4 runners from each house in the sprint heats, will run the sprint finals at the conclusion of the age group rotations. We would love to see as many parents as possible coming along to support their children while adding to the carnival atmosphere during the event.
Senior Carnival 9 to 12 Years – (Windsor Park, Albion)
Some events will be done pre main carnival day (## students need to pre-qualify in these field events), however the majority of events will be held on Tuesday 24 June. Events will be conducted on a rotation basis to keep students active and involved throughout the day. Although we have an emphasis on participation, the carnival results are used to select our track and field team to compete at the District Championships in Term 3. We would love to see as many parents as possible at the carnival to support their children in their events.
Once again we will be holding our senior carnival at Windsor Park in Albion. Students (except the 800m runners) will be bused to and from the venue for the day’s activities. Students will need to be at school at 8.15am on Tuesday to have their rolls marked and catch the buses to ensure the carnival begins on time. Students wishing to run the 800m finals at 8.30am will have to pre nominate and will need to arrange for their own transport to the venue at the earlier time.
