Premier’s Reading Challenge 1 June-22 August 2025
Wilston State School children participate in the annual Premier’s Reading Challenge! This state-wide event encourages students to read regularly to develop a lifelong love of reading for enjoyment and learning.
Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students have received a Reader Record sheet to bring home. Please keep it in a safe, visible place at home. As children complete each text, please assist them to record the details.
- Prep to Year 2 should read or experience at least 20 books through shared reading with others, listening to/or reading picture books and even class take-home readers.
Year 3-Year 6 forms will be kept in classrooms. However, an electronic copy is available here to record any additional reading at home. These two copies can be stapled together at the end of the challenge.
- Years 3 and 4 should read at least 20 books (see other texts below).
- Years 5 and 6 should read at least 15 books (see other texts below).
Ebooks and audio books, recipe books, magazines, graphic novels and newspapers can also be counted as books for this challenge!
All students who complete the Premier’s Reading Challenge and return their forms to the school by Friday 22 August 2025, will receive a certificate signed by the Queensland Premier in late October.
