Monthly Update From Your P&C

The end of May is upon us – and what a huge month it was! Our community events calendar and fundraising efforts supported by our families was out of this world!

We have seen a huge contribution this month of fundraising toward our planned upgrade to the prep playground. Thanks for all of your support. We send appreciation most especially to our volunteers who take on the challenge of running these outstanding events, serving as custodians of opportunities for our community to participate, donate and connect. This month we thank these amazing parents and their volunteer crews for making the magic happen:

The P&C is also happy to note:

• in the month of May, we completed P&C payment of the AV system for the hall at the agreed $150,000 contribution – we will all get to see this system in action with our own eyes in just a few short weeks! The handover of the completed hall is mere weeks away and anticipation is building! (Who else is excited?!)

We joined with our school on two event concepts this month.

• Firstly, we were thrilled to see the eagerness our kids showed to choosing a piece of fruit as they walked through the school gate on “walk safely to school day”. The P&C was happy to contribute the fruit boxes in support of this annual ‘safe commute’ message. Thanks go to Lyndall at the tuckshop for coordinating the purchase of the fruit for us.
• Secondly, the playdates on our school oval were very well attended, with over 80 people attending the prep play (on a long weekend!) and more than 100 for the grade 2 afternoon. We are looking forward to the rescheduled grade 1 gathering (8 June) and we hope the weather is more friendly for this date in a couple of weeks for your big afternoon play!

Finally – a note for your calendars. At the 19 June meeting, we will be hearing from the school about the prep playground improvements, and we are heading to a big decision made on significant P&C investment to complete the works for our new preps in 2026. Come along to listen to the discussion, and hear for yourself how our community’s money will be spent in the betterment of our school grounds. You do not need to be a member to attend but you will need to nominate as a member in order to vote. The membership form can be found here.
